Anglican Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and his wife Leah have laid a criminal charge against their granddaughter.
Reports say 30-year-old Ziyanda Palesa Tutu is due to hand herself over to police on Friday.

A statement by the couple’s foundation says the Tutus are distressed and deeply saddened by the development.
It says the family is hoping to put the matter behind them.
The contents of the charge are unclear.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Arch confirmed he had laid a charge against his granddaughter.
The 30-year-old this week posted several comments on social media, which speaks to the matter, but also fails to divulge any further information about the charge.
Ziyanda announced on Twitter she will be handing herself over on Friday.

In a third tweet about 18 hours ago, Tutu’s first grandchild says she’s been receiving requests for interviews about the matter.
