Zesco Limited says it will this year reduce electricity generation by two hundred megawatts every day until water levels improve in water bodies especially Lake Kariba.
Zesco Senior Manager for Generation Support Services, Romas Kamanga, says this is as a result of the decision by the Zambezi River Authority to reduce by ten percent water allocated to Zesco for electricity generation at the Kariba Dam.
Kamanga says thr poor rainfall this rainy season has led to low water levels for power generation.
He has appealed to the public to ensure that they conserve electricity to reduce on load shedding.
