Vice President Inonge Wina says government will distribute relief food to all areas in the country, that will experience poor agricultural yeild.
Ms. Wina says NO Zambian will starve because Government is aware of the challenges people are facing.
Poor rains in some parts of the country are expected to result into a poor agriculture yeild.
And Ms. Wina says government has put agriculture as a top priority in transforming people’s lives.
Ms. Wina says government is therefore creating a conducive environment in the agricultural sector to translate into jobs creation especially among the youths.
Ms. Wina was speaking on Friday when she officially opened the 2015 Agri-tech Expo in CHISAMBA, Central Province.
The Vice President has since praised the Zambia National Farmers Union -ZNFU for bringing the players together.
And Agriculture and Livestock Minister Given Lubinda said the decision to flag off distribution of farming inputs in April is to motivate farmers to work harder this year.
And German Minister of Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt said the planet is sufficient to produce food for the entire world population.
He says all players should take part in achieving the dream.
MR SCHMIDT says his Government is working hard to promote Genetically Modified Organisms – GMO free crops.
He says Germany is working on future cooperation with Zambia in promoting food security through exchange in technology.
Central Province Minister Davies Chisopa is glad that the Ministry of Agriculture has kicked off distribution of farming inputs early.
Meanwhile, Zambia National Farmers Union -ZNFU President Evelyn Nguleka says Zambia should take advantage of the water available to boost farming to avoid calamities resulting from drought.
