Zambeef Joint Chief Executive Officer Carl Irwin says service quality is as important as the quality of Zambeef’s meat.
Dr Irwin who has commended Zambeef staff for their skills in preparing meat and serving customers in the nation said this is why ZAMBEEF seeks to celebrate the great work of its retail staff.
Dr Irwin said the company butcheries at Shoprite in Lusaka’s Manda Hill, Chimwemwe and Senanga each received trophies and cash bonuses in the company’s monthly quest to identify its most impressive outlets countrywide.
The Zambeef Joint Chief Executive Officer said this in a press statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
He also said that the group’s Zamchick Inn fast-food branch at Arcades in Lusaka also received an award.
Dr Irwin was on hand to present the cheques and trophies to winning retail outlets, watched by an excited crowd of customers at Zambeef Kabwata Estate butchery.
“These accolades recognise the hard work and dedication that customers find in all our stores,” said Dr Irwin.
He said Zambeef Products is the largest integrated agribusinesses in Zambia adding that the group is principally involved in the production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, milk, dairy products, eggs, stock feed and flour.
He also stated that the group also has large raw cropping operations, principally maize, soya beans and wheat, with approximately 8,350 hectares of raw crops under irrigation and 17,000 hectares of rain fed-dry-land crops available for planting each year.
He further expressed that the group is also in the process of rolling out its West Africa expansion in Nigeria and Ghana, as well as developing a palm project in Zambia.
Dr Irwin also alluded that the company slaughters more than 80,000 beef cattle and 6 million chickens, and processes 8 million litres of milk per year.
He disclosed that the company has 121 retail outlets throughout the country, along with four wholesale depots.
