A-Twenty Six year –old man of Sungo village in Chief Mwanamungela of Kalabo district in Western Province has died after being stabbed following an altercation at a drinking spree.
Western Provincial Commissioner of Police Standwell Lungu says the late Mubita Muliya 26 was stabbed after quarreling with Nasilele Nawa aged 22, both of the same area yesterday around 18:00hours and died on the spot in Tusheshe area.
Mr. Lungu confirmed the incident to ZANIS in an interview today,saying the deceased was stabbed in the ribs and in the head and sustained fatal injuries.
He has further noted that the assailant has been arrested and detained at Kalabo Police Station to help Police with investigation on the motive behind such a harsh killing.
Meanwhile the body of the deceased is currently in Kalabo district Hospital Mortuary awaiting Post-mortem and burial.
In another development a six year old boy of Malengwa Primary School in Mongu district died on the spot after being hit by Toyota Corolla Registration number AL J5779 yesterday around 08:30hours.
The Commissioner who confirmed the incident in an interview today said that the accident happened near Malengwa Primary School.
This was when the driver whom he has named as Danny Sondo aged 29 of Kapulanga Compound was driving along Mongu Limulunga road lost control and rammed into the juvenile who was standing by the road side, he said.
And Provincial Traffic Officer Justin Mulele said that the accident happened when the Roads Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA) pursued the driver in question using a RTSA Blended Nissan TIDA belonging to RTSA Mongu Station.
This was for violating roads rules and in avoiding them lost control and hit the pedestrian known as Sinwala Farai.
Mr. Mulele said the driver has been apprehended by Police and will appear in Court soon for causing death by careless driving.
The body of the deceased is lying in Lewanika General Hospital Mortuary awaiting Post-mortem.
Another, 12 year old girl from Sioma district in Western Province died on the spot after being hit by a wheel of the Rosa Mitsubishi registration number AK7293 around 11:50 yesterday after it got disengaged from the car and charged at her, hitting her on the head.
Mr. Mulele identified the deceased as Sita Ndaba 12 of Sioma Nangweshi residential area and the driver as Mwendaendi Mbangweta aged 30 a business man of Mongu Kambule Residential area.
The Police said that the driver is in Nangweshi Police Post adding that the body of the deceased is in Sioma district Hospital Mortuary awaiting Post-mortem and burial.
