The Road Develeopment Agency Board- has terminated the contract for RDA Director and Chief Executive Officer, Bernard Chiwala.
RDA Director of Construction and Rehabilitation Kanyuka Mumba has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.
This is according to a statement made available to ZNBC news by acting RDA Chairperson Charles Sipanje after a board meeting.
The Board directed Mr Mumba to ensure that the Link Zambia 8000 project, Pave Zambia 2000, the L400 and other projects are sped up.
The Board directed Mr Mumba to closely supervise the implementation of projects.
The Board also directed Mr Mumba to ensure that all outstanding issues with contractors are resolved quickly and that opportunities are also given to local contractors.
Meanwhile, the Lusaka High court has granted an injunction restraining Nkana Alloy and Smelting from continuing with mining activities at the copper slug dumpsite in Kitwe commonly known as the black mountain.
Lusaka High Court Judge Mwila Chitabo has since ordered that Lunga mineral, exploration limited, and members of the community be given unlimited access to the dumpsite.
The court order is further directing that the plaintiff be given exclusive rights to process and transport material from the black mountain.
According to the injunction obtained by ZNBC News in Kitwe today, Justice Chitabo has since set March 26th, this year as the date for inter- parte hearing between Lunga Mineral and Exploration limited and Nkana Alloy limited.
