Northern Province PF approves Geoffrey Mwamba’s expulsion from the party
Kasama, March 07, ZANIS———————-The Patriotic Front in Northern Province
has welcomed the expulsion of Kasama Central Member of Parliament
Geoffrey Mwamba from the ruling party.
PF Acting Provincial Chairman Peter Mwansa says the decision of by the Central Committee to expel Mr. Mwamba is a big relief to the general membership of the party in the province.
Mr. Mwansa alleged that Mr. Mwamba was the source of internal party wrangles in Kasama central constituency due to the parallel structures he had formed within the party.
He said the ruling party is now ready to meet Mr. Mwamba in the battle field once the parliamentary by-election is called by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
Mr. Mwansa has further challenged Mr. Mwamba to fully accept his expulsion from PF and test his popularity in the impending by-election.
Meanwhile, both Kasama District PF Chairman Caleb Monta and Kasama Central constituency Chairman Noble Nsofu have fully supported the expulsion of Mr. Mwamba from the ruling party.
The two party officials said the expulsion of the Kasama lawmaker is good riddance considering that the MP was negatively affecting party mobilization in his constituency due to his alleged divisive politics.
Recently, the PF Central Committee expelled Kasama Central MP Geoffrey
Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as GBM from the party for gross
indiscipline.
However, Mr. Mwamba is in the process of seeking a court injunction to restrain the party from expelling him.
