Four children die in inferno
Mpika, March 6, 2015, ZANIS… FOUR children of the same family have died in an inferno in Kabimbili-Chibwa area of Mpika district in Muchinga Province.

The death of the four children aged between three and nine years has been confirmed to ZANIS today by Muchinga province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka.

Mr. Daka said the incident happened on March 1, 2015 around 20:00 hours in Kabimbili Chibwa  village.

The Police Commissioner identified the four children as Kasonde Bambala, 9, Emeldah Bambala 7, Elijah Bambala, 5, and the fourth one only identified as Lister aged three years of the same family who died inside their house.

Mr. Daka further explained that matter was reported on March 2 by Willard Musonda  around 10:25 hours .

The Police chief said the police officers that visited the scene said that the cause of the fire was not yet known.

Mr Daka however stated that facts of the matter were that the mother went to a funeral and left the children in the care of the eldest child.
