—-Former Alliance for Democracy and Development losing Parliamentary candidate for Kalabo Central Constituency Kalaluka Mubukwanu is now aspiring to contest the seat on Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) ticket in 2016 general elections.
And the Party is overwhelmed by the number of people that have expressed interest in contesting on its ticket in the fourth coming Local Government by-election in Liumba ward in Kalabo Central Constituency.
Mr Mubukwanu who is also FDD Provincial Chairperson told ZANIS in an interview that the party had gained momentum at grass root level and that come 2016 general elections the party will emerge victorious.
The Western Province FDD Chairperson claims popularity in Kalabo Central Constituency, saying he is optimistic to face no stiff competition as he has done his ground work.
And Mr Mubukwanu disclosed that so far five individuals had applied to contest in the Liumba Local Government by-election on the FDD ticket adding that more were yet to come on board.
He noted that the overwhelming interest from individuals to contest on FDD ticket was proof enough that the party was gaining ground and becoming more popular in the district.
Mr Mubukwanu said most people have now realized that FDD under the leadership of Edith Nawakwi would bring the desired development to the people of Kalabo and appealed for more people to join the party.
The Liumba seat fell vacant after the death of the ward Councillor.
