Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia chapter has warned political party cadres to desist from the habit of harassing journalists.
MISA Zambia board member Wilson Pondamali has told Qfm news in an interview that it is unacceptable for political party cadres to continue harassing journalists who are merely doing their work of informing the nation.
Mr. Pondamali says MISA calls on all political party leaders to come out strongly and condemn acts of violence against journalists because this affects their work.
Mr. Pondamali adds that MISA Zambia also called on the law enforcement agencies to come up with stiff punishment for perpetrators of violence if Zambia has to continue being a peaceful country where everyone is free to move around freely without fear of being attacked.
