The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested a Man for obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to the laws of Zambia.
The Commission through its anti – money Laundering Investigation Unit , has arrested Victor Calvo Mainza , 37, a former travel consultant of Savannah Travel and Tours residing at House No. 64/17 Chawama Township in Lusaka.
ZANIS reports that DEC public relations officer Theresa Katongo disclosed the arrest in a statement in Lusaka on February 20.
Ms. Katonga said on unknown dates the victim jointly with other persons obtained money amounting to k146, 100.00 from 6 named businessman of Asian origin issuing them with fake tickets and used the money for his personal gain.
She also said that the 3 past days the commission has arrested 50 people countrywide for unlawful cultivation and trafficking tonnes of psychotropic substances.
