INSPECTOR-General of Police Stella Libongani has thanked former deputy Inspector-General of Police Solomon Jere for diligently serving the police service and urged him to continue being industrious in his diplomatic duties.
Ms Libongani said at a farewell cocktail party for Dr Jere and former police commissioners Brenda Muntemba, Funwell Siandenge and Lemmy Kajoba that their contribution to the Police is immense and greatly appreciated.
Dr Jere and Ms Muntemba have been appointed as high commissioners to Nigeria and Kenya, respectively, while Mr Siandenge and Mr Kajoba have been retired.
“One thing which makes, proud is that this is the first time officers who are leaving the police are being appointed into foreign service and I want to thank President Lungu for the great honour he has bestowed on us,” she said.
