The Zambia under-17 national soccer team last evening revived its chances of continuing in the ongoing 2015 Africa Youth Championships after beating hosts Niger by two goals to one.

Captain Patson Daka and Wayne Museba scored for Zambia in the 6th and 16th minutes respectively in a match played at Kountche stadium in Niamey yesterday.

According to the results obtained by ZANIS Sports from Football Association Zambia (FAZ) Spokesperson Nkweto Tembwe, Niger scored their only goal in the 65th minute through substitute Malick Gonda.

In the other group A match, Nigeria drew one all with Guinea.

Zambia is now third in the group with three points while Nigeria and Guinea have four points but the latter leads the group on a superior goal difference while Niger has no point at all.

Meanwhile, the Junior Chipolopolo boys will go in the deciding group A match against Nigeria without key defenders, Prosper Chilufya and Edward Chimfwembe.

The two players have each accumulated two yellow cards in the first game against Guinea and last evening’s match against Niger.
