President Lungu hailed over Kansembe’s appointment
Kasama, February 17th, 2015, ZANIS— A Senior Citizen of Lukashya Constituency in Kasama Mark Mwansa has praised President Edgar Lungu for appointing Alfridah Kansembe as Labour and Social Security deputy minister.
Mr. Mwansa said the appointment of Ms Kansembe is the Republican President ‘s demonstration of good leadership in observing gender equality by appointing women in top positions.
He was hopeful that Ms. Kansembe will work diligently and deliver in her new appointment.
The Senior citizen was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kasama District today.
He added that the former Home Affairs deputy minister being the only female MP in Northern Province deserved a ministerial position.
Mr. Mwansa said people in Lukashya constituency are happy to have a Member of Parliament who is also deputy minister, saying the move will ease implementation of developmental projects in the area.
He appealed to Ms. Kansembe to look into the labour matters of civil servants if they were to be motivated and deliver quality services to the people.
Mr. Mwansa added that one of the most demotivating issues among public service workers today was the imposition of the unfair wage freeze by government.
He said there is urgent need to review the wage freeze if the workers are to be motivated.
