Police in Lusaka have arrested eight suspects and gunned down one in connection with the spate of aggravated robberies that have been happening at different filling stations in Lusaka.
The alleged robber that has been shot after an exchange of fire with police officers is currently nursing injuries at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda has disclosed to Qfm News in a statement that this successful operation has also led to the recovery of three AK 47 riffles, one revolver and eight rounds of ammunition.
Ms. Chanda says the operations will however continue until all those involved in these criminal activities are brought to book.
She has also urged members of the public with information leading to the apprehension of the remaining criminals to report to the nearest police station.
