Zambia U-17 face Guinea tonight
Lusaka, February 15, 2015, ZANIS—The Zambia Under 17 national football team are this evening battling it out with Guinea for the Group A second match of the 11th edition of the African Cup of Nations in Niamey, Niger .
This was made available to ZANIS in a statement issued by Football Association of Zambia Communication Manager Nkweto Tembwe .
Zambia will be making its debut at the finals with Coach Chris Kaunda confident of his team winning.
Kaunda says all teams were debutants in some way as none of them will have an advantage on account of having made it to the finals before.
Kaunda who is a Dutch trained coach said the team will make its maiden appearance as a country and both teams will feature new players.
ZANIS reports that this is according to a statement made available by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Communications Manager, Nkweto Tembwe.
Tembwe says with the midfielder Changwe Kalale hospitalized after being involved in a road traffic accident, Kaunda seems to have found a replacement in new comer Ngosa Sunzu, who put up a spirited performance Zambia’s friendly with South Africa.
Sunzu will be joined by Patson Daka, Pumulo Siwanga and Edwin Chipile who will be set for defence.
Tembwe said the coach is likely to use Daniel Sikanyika who only allowed a goal during thee qualifier matches played against Zambia, Botswana and Uganda.
Kaunda declared his team ready and is focused on getting into the semis and automatically qualifying for the World Cup to be hosted in Chile.
