MMD Leader Nevers Mumba is confident that the two MMD Members of Parliament appointed to President Edgar Lungu’s Cabinet will deliver to the best of their abilities.
Dr. Mumba says it is unfortunate that some people want to make it a big deal that two of his MPs are serving in the PF government a move that will destabilize the party.
Dr. Mumba says President Lungu consulted him before appointing Mwandi MP Michael Kaingu and Chipangali MP Vincent Mwale as Education Minister and Minister of Youth and Sport respectively.
He explains that the President is empowered by the republican constitution to appoint members of the executive from among Members of Parliament regardless of political affiliation.
He says the appointment of the two ministers was done in good faith and in the interest of the country.
Dr Mumba has since advised those speculating to allow the two ministers deliver to the best of their abilities.
