Lungu get kudos for women appointments
Solwezi, February 13, 2015, ZANIS….Women from all walks of life in
Solwezi district today marched to the provincial administration to show
solidarity for the appointment of women to key positions in government.
ZANIS reports that the women carried placards and sang songs praising President Edgar
Lungu for considering more women in his government.
Speaking on behalf of other women, Charity Mulemena thanked President
Lungu for considering women as equal partners by giving them key
positions in decision making such as Vice President, Chief Justice,
Commerce and Industry as well lands and natural resources portfolios.
Ms Mulemena also praised President Lungu for uniting the country
through running an inclusive government.
She called on all women to rally behind Mr Lungu who has recognized
the potential that women have in contributing to moving the country
forward.
And addressing the women, Northwestern province minister Dawson
Kafwaya said it was gratifying to see women coming together to support
the appointments of their fellow women.
Mr Kafwaya said women and men should work together as a united force
to foster development because they have the same potential.
