Nkana Football club says its player Ronald ‘Sate- Sate’ Kampamba who is based in Egypt will remain safe despite the violence in the country that has led to the suspension of the football league by the government.
Speaking in a telephone interview with ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today, Nkana football club public relations manager Caphes Sinyangwe revealed that ‘Sate-Sate’ is safe.
Sinyangwe said that the player has signed a contract for three and a half years therefore he cannot come back to Zambia despite the conflicts in Egypt.
He said the Egyptian security department has guaranteed the Club that they will secure the lives of the players in the country so that they can complete the league.
Sinyangwe said football fans for ‘Sate-Sate’ should not even worry because the player is physically fit.
Over 20 football fans are reported to have died at the weekend after a stampede broke out at a stadium in Cairo during a local league match.
