MADMAX Auto Spares yesterday donated K35,000 to the Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) towards the hosting of the first round of the 2015 national rally set for this month-end in Chisamba.
Company sales and marketing manager Nyambe Maboshe said his firm will start sponsoring the Chisamba rally annually owing to the good partnership it has enjoyed with ZMSA.
Maboshe said this yesterday when he handed over a cheque to ZMSA vice-president Sam Ching’ambu at the Lusaka Motor Club.
“We are pumping in K35,000 into this years’ rally and moving forward we are adopting the Chisamba rally as our baby, year in and year out,” he said.
He said Madmax Auto Spare decided to partner with ZMSA for many years because of the organisation of the sport and effectiveness of the executive who have ensured that the sport becomes a household name.
Maboshe said the sport had the potential to go far if only the corporate and government could come on board and offer sponsorship.
Ching’ambu said the 2015 calendar will be greater and exciting as a number of sponsors have come on board who have bought the eight legs to be held under the national championship.
Meanwhile, ZMSA has congratulated the President Edgar Lungu for his election as sixth Republican President and hailed his move to appoint Inonge Wina as Vice-President, saying she is a special member of the rally family.
