—-The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in in Mansa has arrested a Court Clerk at the Mansa Subordinate Court for abuse of authority of office contrary to the Laws of Zambia Section 21 (1) (a) of the Anti- Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
Thomson Mwape of Plot No. 3368 Musenga area in Mansa has been charged with two counts of abuse of authority of office contrary to the Act.
ACC Public Relations Manager (PRM) Timothy Moono has confirmed in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
Mr. Moono said in the first count Mwape on diverse dates but between 1st January 2013 and 31st December 2013 in Mansa, being a public officer and Court Clerk for the Mansa Subordinate court jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons abused the authority of his office.
Mwape ordered Chandwe Timothy to pay money to Benjamin Mwaba without following the laid down court procedures an act prejudicial to the rights or interests of the government or any other person.
In the second Count, details are that Mwape on diverse dates but between 1st June 2013 and 31st December 2013 in Mansa jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons, abused the authority of his office issued a GRZ receipt No. 4440506 to Timothy Chandwe without following the laid down procedures.
Mr. Moono said Mwape has since been released on bond and he would appear in court soon.
