Governance Activist Maurice Malambo has advised Zambians to avoid voting on tribal lines during next year’s general elections.
Mr. Malambo says the voting pattern that characterized the January 20th presidential by-election is worrying.
He says such a scenario should be avoided in the spirit of promoting oneness in the country.
Mr. Malambo fears that if such a voting pattern continues, the nation may end up being divided.
Mr Malambo has commended Republican President Edgar Lungu for showing that Zambia is bigger than politics for pledging to work with all people across the country even in places he got the lowest votes.
He says it is for this reason that Zambians must come together and vote for a person they think has a vision and not on the basis of tribe.
