UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has warned that the party will not take kindly to any member resorting to violence ahead of the 2016 general elections.
Mr Hichilema said at a press briefing yesterday that UPND members should not engage in any form of violence as some Patriotic Front (PF) cadres allegedly resorted to violence after President Lungu was declared winner of last Tuesday’s presidential poll.
“Let us stop violence and work together irrespective of where we are coming from because we are one people,” he said.
Mr Hichilema said UPND will continue to recognise the need for all political parties to co-exist, adding that political parties instigating violence must be condemned.
He called on police not to turn a blind eye to those inciting and committing election crimes.

Both PF & UPND must displine their cadres to stop this violent behaviour
