—The construction of a new Luwingu Civic Centre is progressing well.
The project is being done by MB Constructions, a local contractor based in Mansa.
Luwingu District Commissioner, Mambwe Katontoka, confirmed the development to ZANIS in Luwingu.
Ms Katontoka said government was happy that the works are now progressing well, adding that 85 per cent of the works has so far been completed.
She mentioned that K35 000 has been released by the Irish Aid for the completion of the project, adding that this was the second time the project was getting funding.
Site Foreman, Dominic Kabule, said the Civic Centre is expected to be completed by the end of March as most of the works have been done and will soon be handed over to the district.
Mr Kabule further stated that the only challenge which the contractor was facing was delayed payments.
He was, however, hopeful that the Civic Centre will be completed in time.
