—The National Association of Savings and Credit Union (NASCU) management for Central Province has implored farmers to take advantage of its newly offloaded loan schemes that pertain to agriculture as well as building materials.
NSACU’s Acting Central Province Manager, Cephas Munsaka, who was speaking to ZANIS in Mkushi, said there was need for farmers to capitalise on NASCU’s new programs that involved loans for agriculture and building activities.
Mr Munsaka stressed that NASCU, which was formerly known as Credit Union and Savings Association (CUSA), was targeting farmers with the objective of availing them with alternative loan empowerment source.
He said the prime interest of his organisation was to promote food ownership at household level through empowering farmers with access to loans for use in the 2015 farming season as well as building infrastructure.
He noted that NASCU was hopeful of positive response from farmers, saying his organisation was laying plans to ensure that the delivery of farming inputs to successful applicants could be effected by August, 2015.
He assured farmers that NASCU was committed towards being a vibrant organisation since rebranding its name in 2012 from CUSA to NASCU.
Mr Munsaka pointed out that the appeal was important to farmers of old districts such as Mkushi, as well as to farmers based in newly created districts like Luano.
