Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Yamfwa Mukanga says the Patriotic Front (PF) deserved to scoop the just ended Presidential polls.
Mr. Mukanga told ZANIS In an interview in Lusaka today soon after the swearing-in ceremony of Zambia’s Sixth Republican President that the PF needed to come back and finish its mandate.
Mr. Mukanga said the PF will continue taking development as close to the people as possible.
Meanwhile, Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe has congratulated PF Members and the people of Zambia for voting for President Edgar Lungu.
Mr. Sikazwe said the people voted for the PF because of the many developmental projects that the government has worked on in the last three years of being in power.
He said the PF has taken development to all parts of the country and just had to come back to power.
Mr. Sikazwe said despite winning the Presidential polls it was a tight race but the best party had to win.
He said Presidential margin is a wakeup call for PF members to deliver to the expectations of the people.
Mr. Sikazwe said this was not the time to celebrate but to regroup and reach out to more people in the country.
