——–The counting of ballot papers in Mongu Central Constituency in Mongu district of Western Province is going on and so far out of the 35 polling stations whose results have been received the United Party for National Development (UPND) is leading with 9,187 votes followed by its immediate rival, the Patriotic Front (PF), with 1,755 votes.
The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) got 144 votes, Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) 110 votes, United National Independence Party (UNIP) 42 votes, Heritage Party (HP) 38 votes, National Restoration Party (NAREP) 28 votes and Forum for Democratic Alternatives (FDA) 13 votes.
The Fourth Revolution Party (FRP) got ten votes, the Christian Democratic Party (CDP) while the Green Party (GP) got two votes.
Mongu Central Constituency that has 49 polling stations has so far received election results from 35 polling stations and out of a total number of 11, 438 ballot papers that were counted 105 have been rejected.
The counting of ballot papers for the remaining 14 polling stations is expected to be done today.
The totalling centre for the Presidential election results in Mongu Central Constituency is the Boma Polling Station at the Minister’s Hall where security officers, election observers and the media are present.
