Serenje declared ready for elections
Serenje, January 19, 2015, ZANIS.…Serenje District Electoral Officer Kennedy Kazanda has declared the district ready for tomorrow’s Presidential elections.
Speaking to ZANIS in an interview this morning, Mr Kazanda said the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) had provided all the logistics to the district and that polling staff had since been dispatched to their respective stations in Muchinga and Serenje Central constituencies.
Mr Kazanda who urged the polling staff to sleep at their respective polling stations and tomorrow open the stations at exactly 06:00 hours as prescribed by the ECZ also disclosed that all the ballot papers for the two constituencies in the district have been dispatched to the 59 polling stations.
The District Electoral officer also encouraged the electorates to turn up enmass and exercise their right to vote in tomorrow’s elections.
Eleven Presidential candidates are participating in the elections tomorrow to replace President Michael Sata who died last October.
