Kafue district ready for elections
Kafue, January 19, 2015, ZANIS…Kafue district electoral officer Aaron Kamalondo says the district has received all the materials in readiness for tomorrow’s presidential elections.
Mr Kamalondo added that ferrying of materials and deployment of polling agents in various polling stations in the district is being finalized today.
ZANIS reports that the district electoral officer said this when election observer representatives from SADCC and COMESA member states called on him at his office.
Mr Kamalondo who is also the district council secretary said the deployment exercise was moving well and started with the furthest places like Chiawa and other flung areas.
He added that the materials were under escort of police officers enrooting to all the 50 polling stations in the district.
Meanwhile, the district electoral officer has bemoaned the inaccessibility to some places due to the rains saying this was a challenge in the delivery of the election materials.
He added that despite the challenge his office has ensured that the materials are delivered to the respective polling stations.
