Kabanshi presents hampers to Christmas babies at Chipata hospital

 

Lusaka, December 25, 2014——————————- Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi today presented hampers to six newly born Christmas babies at  Chipata first level hospital in Lusaka.

 

Ms Kabanshi encouraged the mothers to seek postnatal services from health institutions to ensure the well growth of their children.

 

Ms Kabanshi was accompanied by Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata who is also Patriotic Front-PF Mandevu area member of parliament.

 

And speaking to management shortly after presenting the hampers, Ms Kabanshi said she was pleased with the services the hospital was rendering to the community.

 

The Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health said government wants to see more women across the country giving birth in health institutions.

 

She advised management to continue encouraging couples to take family planning seriously adding that child spacing is essential for the growth of children.  

 

And Ms Kapata noted that the hampers given to the newly born babies will make Christmas celebrations special for the families.

 

 Meanwhile Chipata hospital Acting Sister- In-charge Maureen Chikwa thanked government for the support rendered to the institution.

 

Ms. Chikwa said the hospital is providing 24 hours services to the community noting that the number of people seeking health care services has increased since the institution was declared a first level hospital.
