—————-Police in Kasama are holding two people for allegedly stealing 750×50kg bags of maize worthy K52,000 from the Food Reserve Agency-FRA sheds in Kasama.
Northern Province Assistant Police Commissioner Mubita Nawa said two men whose identities have been withheld were apprehended for allegedly stealing maize on Saturday.
Mr. Nawa disclosed in an interview with ZANIS yesterday that only 92 bags of maize were recovered adding that the police will continue to search for 5 more suspects that are on the run.
He noted that the police will intensify their patrols especially during this festive season as well as the elections period.
He warned the public to be mindful of their behaviour during this festive season as engaging into crimes will be at their own peril.
He said the police will ensure that all criminal activities are curbed.
Mr. Nawa further advised road users to avoid speeding and drunk while driving.
