The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a former Principal of Lukashya Trades Training Institute in Kasama for theft involving over K 27, 000.
Anderson Mtonga 56, of House number Tech 10, TVTC, Lukashya has been charged with three counts of theft by public servant contrary to section 265 as read with section 278 of the penal code cap 87 of the laws of Zambia.
This is contained in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today by ACC Corporate Affairs Officer Jonathan Siame.
In the first count, details are that on dates unknown but between 1st July 2009 and 30th July 2009 in Kasama, Mtonga, being a public officer namely a Principal at Lukashya Trades Training Institute jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons, allegedly stole K5,400, property of the Lukashya Trades Training Institute which came
into his possession by virtue of him being employed as Principal at the training institute.
In the second count, Mtonga is alleged to have on dates unknown but between 1st June 2009 and 30th June 2009 in Kasama, jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons, allegedly stole K 6,000 property of Lukashya Trades Training Institute which came into his possession by virtue of him being employed as Principal at the training institute.
In the third count, he is alleged to have on dates unknown but between 1st November 2009 and 30th November 2009 in Kasama jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons, stolen K 16,290, property of Lukashya Trades Institute which came into his possession by virtue of him being employed as Principal at the institution.
Mr. Siame said the accused has since been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
