The Zambia Sport Fans Association (ZSFA) has assured female boxer Esther Phiri of maximum support in tomorrow’s international non-title welterweight fight against Evelyn Odero of Kenya.
ZSFA president Peter Makembo said boxing fans have welcomed Phiri back to the ring.
Pastor Makembo is urging the boxing fans in the country to turn-up in large numbers at Chez-Ntemba in Kabulonga in Lusaka for tomorrow’s bout to witness Phiri’s come back.
In an interview with ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today, Makembo urged Phiri to continue bringing glory and honour to Zambia by defeating Odero.
Phiri, known in the boxing circles as “Killer B”, tomorrow returns to the ring after hanging up her gloves in February, 2012.
Odero replaced Jennifer Facio of Uruguay who initially pulled out from the fight citing communication breakdown between her camp and the promoter, Exodus Boxing Stables.
