—————–Construction of a modern post office in Mafinga District of Muchinga Province at a cost of K2.4 million has advanced.
A check by the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) yesterday found the contractor Power Surge Company working on the roof.
The modern post office building will also house a supermarket, restaurant and a bank once completed.
District Commissioner Beatrice Nakanyika said the modern post office once completed will contribute to the delivery of social and financial services.
Ms. Nakanyika said Mafinga District currently depend on Isoka for financial and banking services saying the modern post office once commissioned will reduce the cost of doing business in the border town.
And Ms. Nakanyika has also disclosed that construction of the district administrative offices in Mafinga at a cost of K4.2 million has been completed.
She told ZANIS in an interview shortly after inspecting the works that she is impressed with the workmanship of JM and J Contractors who were engaged to construct the office block.
Ms. Nakanyika said government departments that have been squatting in shops and houses will soon be moving into a new office block that will accommodate almost all them.
She also disclosed that construction of the civic centre at a cost of K1.8 million by BUILDCOM has also been completed.
