-The Chongwe District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) in Lusaka Province has advised Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) to strictly adhere to principles of Voter Education Programme.
And Chongwe District Voter Education Facilitators Trainer Simon Phiri to master the code of conduct if they are to deliver to the expectation of Zambians.
Chongwe District Voter Education Coordinator,Chanda Makanta has implored Voter Education Facilitators to uphold the principles of voter education in order to have free, fair and credible 2015 Presidential Election.
Ms. Makanta advised the facilitators to religiously stick to the principles of the programme such as non-partisanship, objectivity and neutrality at all times in order to boast voter turnout.
ZANIS reports that the District Voter Education Coordinator was speaking today during the declaration and deployment of VEFs to various wards in Chongwe Constituency ahead of the forthcoming Presidential Election.
The 10 Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) have been deployed after undergoing a today extensive training ahead of the forthcoming Presidential Election.
Ms. Makanta further implored the facilitators to provide a comprehensive voter education to all eligible voters in a non-partisan manner in line with the Electoral Act of 2006 as prescribed by the Voter Education Regulations, 2010.
She Reminded all VEFs that they were bound by the rules, values and principals of Voter Education.
Ms. Makanta warned that her office will not hesitate to terminate the services of erring facilitators for abrogation of the voter education programme principles.
And Chongwe District Voter Education Facilitators Trainer Simon Phiri to master the code of conduct if they are to deliver to the expectation of Zambians.
Mr. Phiri said facilitators needs to avoid confrontation with members of the public by being professional.
He urged the facilitators to work hard and plan their work if they to efficient.
And in vote of thanks, one of the Voter Education Facilitator, German Phiri pledged to deliver programme in accordance with ECZ regulations.
Mr Phiri said the facilitators consider their participation in the exercise as a national service.
