Government has approved the transfer of Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) Headquarters to Kabwe in Central Province from Lusaka.
Transport Works and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga has told a media briefing that as minister responsible for transport he keenly took time to study and look at the operations of Zambia Railways Limited.
Mr. Mukanga explains that he is also impressed with how much work ZRL is doing so far and this is a clear sign of how government is committed to ensuring that the railway transport gets to another level.
Mr. Mukanga points out that government is working in line with party manifesto by delivering the best to the Zambian people.
He says after analyzing all issues surrounding the operations of ZRL, he has finally decided to approve the transfer of the ZRL Headquarters to Kabwe.
Mr. Mukanga has since indicated that the headquarters will start functioning by February 2015.
