Police in Lusaka have arrested eight people for possession of offensive weapons and assault in connection with the fracas that happened at the junction of Great North and Kasangula roads near Heroes stadium.
The commotion which happened on Saturday 6th December left three people injured.
Police spokes person Charity Munganga-Chanda has disclosed to Qfm News that police officers who rushed to the scene of the fracas recovered 12 machetes, two axes and impounded a Silver Toyota Noah Reg. No.ALK 1607 which was used to ferry the suspects.
Ms. Chanda says the suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in court tomorrow, 9th December, 2014.
She has appealed to people in the country to remain peaceful during this campaign period warning that the police will not hesitate to arrest and take to court any person who will involve themselves in any form of violent behavior.
