Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) President Edith Nawakwi has today officially launched her presidential campaign for the 20th January, 2015 election with a promise for transparent leadership.
Speaking during the launch at the National Sports Development Centre (NASDEC) in Lusaka, Ms Nawakwi has also promised to give the people of Zambia a people driven constitution.
Ms. Nawakwi says what is happening in the country today is due to a lack of a people driven constitution.
She points out that a good constitution would have provided for the smooth transfer of power and the PF would not have found itself in the situation that it is in right now.
Ms Nawakwi adds that Zambians now need a leader who will form a partnership with them and work with them to deliver development.
She states that 50 years after independence, Zambians should not be surviving on slogans.
The FDD Leader further states that a partnership with the people is important because Zambians have the potential to move the country forward.
And speaking earlier,NGOCC Board Chairperson Sara Longwe whose organization has endorsed Ms Nawakwi’s candidature says the women are looking forward to having a constitution which will ensure that women and young people take their rightful positions in society.
