It is very painful for me to issue a statement at this time when the Patriotic Front party is shrouded in some internal turmoil. I want to emphasis that I had always believed that I should be part of a team that should help foster a democratic process and provide solutions to the many challenges our party is facing after the sad loss of our founder and leader.
I will not talk about issues that are before court, but I want to appeal to all our Patriotic Front members and supporters of our party to play a part in ensuring that the party does not go into oblivion through their actions even at this late hour. There is still scope for us to reunite and become one formidable force to be reckoned with. For us to achieve this, we should remove the concept of who are the winners and who are the losers. We are all important players including and especially the electorate. Because without the confidence and support of the electorate we will go nowhere.
To this end, I call for level headedness rather than exhibiting emotions in dealing with this delicate matter. Those of us who have had the privilege of leading the party at various levels, must ensure that we promote a spirit of give and take if we are to move forward. Please let us bury our differences as soon as possible so that we move our party and the country forward. Let us not forget that the lives of 14 million Zambians are in our hands as a government in charge of the nation at the moment.
May God bless this great country Zambia, may God bless the people of Zambia.
I remain.
Hon. G.B. Mwamba M.P.
