Government has released K1, 400,000
for the 2014 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Kaputa
Constituency.
Officials from the Kaputa District Council who confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS said the money will fund capital projects in the year 2015.
Kaputa District Council Secretary, Paston Kapoba in a notice to the public said the district has received the funds from government and is asking the public to submit project proposals.
Mr. Kapoba said priorities should be in water supply and sanitation, roads, agriculture, markets and bus stations.
Other areas are education health, sports and recreation facilities.
The Council Secretary has since advised the public to make proposals in line with the council’s plan.
Meanwhile, works to install equipment at Radio Lubuto in Kaputa using funding from the 2013 CDF have started.
The installation of the equipment which started on Sunday has revived
people’s hope of having the first ever radio station in the district.
The community radio was constructed using the CDF funds for 2012 but has
not done any broadcasting due to lack of equipment.
The radio is expected to provide coverage to Kaputa and the surrounding area which has no privilege of listening to frequency modulator (FM) station.
