Government says it appreciates the role Better Immunization Data Initiative Zambia is doing in ensuring that immunization programmes becomes a priority in Zambia.
Mother, Community Development and Child Health Permanent Alwyn Chomba says government is happy that PATH is committed to working with the Zambian government especially in the health sector.
Mr Chomba said this last night when he officiated at the Better Immunization Initiative launch at Cresta Golf View Hotel in Lusaka .
This was in a speech read on his behalf by Director at the Ministry of Mother Community Development and Child Health Caroline Phiri.
The Permanent Secretary said Zambia has invested a lot of resources in it’s immunization programme which he said has continuously embracing and implementing vaccines for the benefit of the Zambian people.
Mr Chomba said with this vibrant initiate, a lot has been achieved especially in the identification of un vaccinated children, tracing defaulters and accurate capturing of full immunization history.
And Better Immunization Data Initiate Zambia Director (PATH) Dr Fwasa Singogo said it is good that government has welcomed the Initiate BID is doing in partnering with the Zambian government in the health sector.
Dr Singogo said BID Initiative’s vision is to empower countries to enhance immunization and the overall health service delivery through improved data collection, quality and the use of resources.
He said his organization has choosen Zambia and Tanzania as two pilot projects before the programme is rolled to other parts of the Sub Sahara region.
The PATH director Dr Singogo said his organization’s vision is to ensuring that it partners with the Zambian Government to ensuring equitable quality health care services to the citizen.
