Defense Minister Edgar Lungu has appealed to the church in the country to pray for the leaders both in opposition and the ruling party.
Speaking during a church service at Chilenje Evangelical Church in Lusaka today, Mr. Lungu who is also justice Minister says the leaders in the country need to be prayed for so that they do what is pleasing in the eyes of God.
Mr. Lungu notes that leadership comes from the Lord hence it is important that the leaders are prayed for so that God guides them.
He adds that it is difficult for the leaders to provide leadership that is efficient and reliable without God.
Mr. Lungu has further encouraged the people not to worry but to continue praying and God will take care of everything.
And speaking earlier, Evangelical Church of Zambia National Bishop, Paul Mususu, has assured Mr. Lungu that the church is praying.
Bishop Mususu has also urged the leaders in the country to provide the necessary leadership for the country.
He has further asked them to sober up and safeguard the mandate given to them by the people.
