Govt calls for peace prayers
Kasama, November 24, 2014, ZANIS…. Government has challenged the church to continue praying for peace and unity in the country.
Northern province deputy permanent secretary Boniface Mbuzi appealed to churches to continue asking God to grant the country grace to remain peaceful and united as well as have a smooth transition of power.
Mr. Mbuzi was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Apostolic Church in Zambia Overseer for Muchinga and Northern provinces, Bishop Francis Mapalo and District overseer Bishop Mwila Chisha in Kasama over the weekend.
He observed that the absence of peace and unity is a threat to national security.
The Deputy PS said Zambia has been a peaceful nation for 50 years now hence the need to continue upholding it.
And speaking earlier, newly inaugurated Overseer for Northern and Muchinga provinces Bishop Francis Mapalo noted that Zambia has seen unprecedented development in all the key sectors of the economy in the recent past.
The Bishop said Zambia has recorded massive development through the construction of schools,
health centres and roads such as the Link Zambia 8,000 Road Project.
He thanked government for initiating various developmental projects currently going on and appealed to people to vote for a credible leader who will continue developing the country.
