The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Kabwe has jointly arrested two Businessmen of Lusaka for one count of Corrupt Practices involving K3000.00
Faisal Omar aged 36, of House No. 101 Akashambatwa Road in Lusaka and Malambo Reeves aged 45, Plot 4138, Roads Park in Lusaka were charged and arrested for Corrupt Practices with public officers, contrary to Section 19(2), as ready with Section 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act Number 3 of the 2012.
Details are that Faisal Omar and Malambo Reeves corruptly offered Three Thousand Kwacha to Zambia Police Service Officers manning the Manyumbi Police Check Point along Great North Road in order for the Police Officers to allow two trucks carrying Mukula Tree logs to pass the Police Check Point without being impounded.
The have since been released on Ten Thousand Kwacha (K10,000) Bond in their own recognisance with two working Sureties and will appear before the Kapiri Mposhi Subordinate Court on Thursday, December 4, 2014 for Plea.
Meanwhile, the Commission in Lusaka has arrested and charged a Zambia Army Officer with four counts of Obtaining Money by False Pretences contrary to section 309 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Staff Sergeant Clement Kanyembo aged 40, of Arakan Barracks in Lusaka obtained a total amount of K3, 900.00 by false pretences from four members of the public by promising them that he would facilitate their recruitment in the Zambia Army when in fact not.
Sergeant Kanyembo who appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate Court on 20th November, 2014 for plea has denied all the charges. Sergeant Kanyembo is currently remanded at Kamwala Remand Prision for failure to meet bail conditions.
