Scott enjoys protection of immunity – LAZ

The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has observed that Vice President Guy Scott enjoys the protection of immunity while discharging his duties of acting republican President.

LAZ President George Chisanga says Dr. Scott enjoys this immunity by virtue of his performing the functions of republican President.

Asked what the implication is, now that Dr. Scott has been dragged to court over the transfer of the presidential instruments of power following the death of President Michael Sata, Mr. Chisanga has told Qfm News in an interview that he thinks these are the issues Attorney General Musa Mwenye who is representing the State in the matter will address in court when the matter comes up.

He says he can however not go in details on the matter as doing so would amount to contempt of court now that the matter is subjugate.
