Media challenged to highlight women entrepreneurship

The media in in the country has been challenged to take keen interest in highlighting women entrepreneurship in Zambia.

Zambia – Comesa Smetoolkit Project Coordinator Edwin Zulu noted that the media in Zambia do not take keen interest in reporting issues involving women enterprise and empowerment programmes.

Speaking during a media breakfast at Lusaka Hotel in Lusaka today, Mr Zulu explained that there is need to recognise and dedicate women entrepreneurship day to promote women owned businesses in the country.

He stated that government has done a lot in creating a conducive environment for women entrepreneurs and youth empowerment in order to alleviate poverty in the country.

Mr Zulu said Minister of Gender Inonge Wina will officiate at the commemoration of Women Entrepreneurship Day on December 3, 2014.
