Parliament opens next week

The fourth session of the Eleventh National Assembly which was suspended will resume next week.

Clerk of the National Assembly Doris Mwiinga says the National Assembly which was suspended business on Wednesday 29 th October will resume on Wednesday 12 November.

This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC in Lusaka.

Parliament business was suspended to enable the legislators mourn President Michael Sata who died on October 28, in a London hospital.

And the African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption says President Sata will be remembered for his keen interest in fighting corruption in Zambia.

APNAC President Cornelius Mweetwa says President Sata will be remembered for restoring the Abuse of Authority Clause in the statutes immediately he came in to power.

Mr. Mweetwa says President Sata’s decision to restore the Abuse of Authority clause proved how the head of state was devoted to fight against corruption.

He said this to ZNBC News in a walk in interview at Mass Media complex in Lusaka.
