Nakonde residents flock to sign book of condolences

Nakonde,  November 7,2014,ZANIS…Residents of Nakonde district in Muchinga province are turning up in large numbers to sign the book of condolences in honour of the late President Michael Sata.

The Book of Condolences has been placed at the District commissioner’s office.

The Book which was opened on Monday 3rd November has been signed by people from different walks of life.

And former Nakonde District Commissioner Billy Silwimba has described President Sata was a gallant and beloved leader.

He said this today after he signed the book of condolences at the District Commissioners office.

Mr Silwimba said President Sata will be greatly missed and has appealed to the Zambians to let his  legacy continue.

The book has been signed by various heads of government departments, senior citizens, heads of parastatal and non governmental organizations and representatives from various political parties.

And Nakonde Patriotic Front(PF) District Chairperson Joe Chanda said the death of President Sata was indeed a great loss to the party and the nation at large.

He has however appealed to PF members to to remain peaceful and become more united during this trying moment.

Mr Chanda was among the many Patriotic Front members who signed the book of Condolences.

Meanwhile, Nakonde District Commissioner James Singoyi has said preparations to show the burial of the late President Sata on large screens on November 11 are on course.
