Lenje chiefs mourn President Sata
Kabwe, Oct 30, 2014, ZANIS– Lenje Chiefs of Ngabwe, Chibombo, Kapiri Mposhi and Chasamba districts have described the death of President Michael Chilufya as a big loss to the nation.
Speaking on behalf of all the Lenje Chiefs, Senior Chief Mukuni Ng’ombe of the Lenje speaking people said the death of President Sata had robbed the nation of a leader whose vision and ambitions were to benefit the country as a whole.
Senior Chief Mukuni Ngombe who is also Chief Chipepo in Kapiri Mposhi said Mr Sata through his administration had already started showing improvements in all areas of the economy.
He said the Lenje chiefs have joined the rest of the nation in mourning and has called on Zambians to mourn the late president with dignity saying the funeral should not be politicized.
Senior chief Mukuni Ng’ombe appealed to political cadres not to be violent during the funeral adding that President Sata was a Christian whose funeral should also be conducted in such a manner.
Lenje chiefs include chiefs Chamuka, Ngabwe,Chitanda, Liteta Mukubwe and, chieftainess Mungule.
President Sata died in London on Tuesday night while attending a medical check up.
In a related development, Nakonde District commissioner James Singoyi is saddened by the death of the President Michael Sata.
Mr Singoyi told ZANIS in an interview that the passing on of the President was a great loss to the nation.
The DC said Nakonde would especially feel the loss especially that the district has seen a lot of developments taking place in the last 3 years that President Sata ruled the country.
He however said that the people of Nakonde were grateful for the developmental activities that have take place in the district including the construction of Nakonde district Hospital as well as the upgrading of the Nakonde – Mbala road to bituminous standard.
And Nakonde District Patriotic Front Chairperson Joe Chanda called on party members to be united in this trying moment.
