——-The District Cooperative Union (DCU) has urged cooperative societies in Kawambwa to purchase farm inputs for their farmer members.
This is to enable them start preparing for the 2014/2015 planting season.
DCU chairperson, Evaristo Kapasa, says since the government has already delivered fertilizers to the area cooperative societies should purchase the inputs for their farmers for them to start preparing for this faming season.
Mr Kapasa said farmers should not wait to be paid by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) hence the need for the cooperative societies to come to their aid.
He noted that waiting for the FRA to pay them might delay them to prepare for the planting season thereby experiencing poor yields during the harvest.
